974a47dfb9 misc: Adopt the gem5 namespace
Apply the gem5 namespace to the codebase.

Some anonymous namespaces could theoretically be removed,
but since this change's main goal was to keep conflicts
at a minimum, it was decided not to modify much the
general shape of the files.

A few missing comments of the form "// namespace X" that
occurred before the newly added "} // namespace gem5"
have been added for consistency.

std out should not be included in the gem5 namespace, so
they weren't.

ProtoMessage has not been included in the gem5 namespace,
since I'm not familiar with how proto works.

Regarding the SystemC files, although they belong to gem5,
they actually perform integration between gem5 and SystemC;
therefore, it deserved its own separate namespace.

Files that are automatically generated have been included
in the gem5 namespace.

The .isa files currently are limited to a single namespace.
This limitation should be later removed to make it easier
to accomodate a better API.

Regarding the files in util, gem5:: was prepended where
suitable. Notice that this patch was tested as much as
possible given that most of these were already not
previously compiling.

71460cb13e sim,misc: Rename Int namespace as as_int
As part of recent decisions regarding namespace
naming conventions, all namespaces will be changed
to snake case.

sim_clock::Int became sim_clock::as_int.

"as_int" was chosen because "int" is a reserved
keyword, and this namespace acts as a selector of
how to read the internal variables.

Another possibility to resolve this would be to
remove the namespaces "Float" and "Int" and use
unions instead.

4d7384e9df sim: Break the eventq.hh dependency in core.hh.
The original implementation of curTick used a thread local variable,
_curEventQueue, and its getCurTick() method, to retrieve the curTick for
the currently active event queue. That meant that core.hh needed to
include eventq.hh so that the EventQueue type was available, which also
indirectly brought in a lot of other dependencies.

Unfortunately this couldn't easily be fixed by making curTick()
non-inline since this added a significant amount of overhead when
tested.

Instead, this change makes the code in core.hh/core.cc keep a pointer
directly to a Tick. The code which sets _curEventQueue now also sets
that pointer when _curEventQueue changes.

The way curTick() now reaches into the guts of the current EventQueue
directly is not great from a modularity perspective, but if curTick is
considered an extension of the EventQueue, then it's just odd that this
part is broken out into a different file.

72ed8c6e76 sim, dev: Get rid of the global retryTime constant.
This constant isn't in normalized units, ie doesn't scale when the time
value of a Tick changes, is global, has an extremely generic name even
though it's only used by a few ethernet devices, and has an arbitrary
value.

Get rid of it, and replace it with 1ns, what it would typically be
equivalent to when using the default 1ps time scale.

de366a16f1 sim: simulate with multiple threads and event queues
This patch adds support for simulating with multiple threads, each of
which operates on an event queue. Each sim object specifies which eventq
is would like to be on. A custom barrier implementation is being added
using which eventqs synchronize.

The patch was tested in two different configurations:
1. ruby_network_test.py: in this simulation L1 cache controllers receive
requests from the cpu. The requests are replied to immediately without
any communication taking place with any other level.
2. twosys-tsunami-simple-atomic: this configuration simulates a client-server
system which are connected by an ethernet link.

We still lack the ability to communicate using message buffers or ports. But
other things like simulation start and end, synchronizing after every quantum
are working.

2d6470936c sim: have a curTick per eventq
This patch adds a _curTick variable to an eventq. This variable is updated
whenever an event is serviced in function serviceOne(), or all events upto
a particular time are processed in function serviceEvents(). This change
helps when there are eventqs that do not make use of curTick for scheduling
events.

7d4f187700 clang: Enable compiling gem5 using clang 2.9 and 3.0
This patch adds the necessary flags to the SConstruct and SConscript
files for compiling using clang 2.9 and later (on Ubuntu et al and OSX
XCode 4.2), and also cleans up a bunch of compiler warnings found by
clang. Most of the warnings are related to hidden virtual functions,
comparisons with unsigneds >= 0, and if-statements with empty
bodies. A number of mismatches between struct and class are also
fixed. clang 2.8 is not working as it has problems with class names
that occur in multiple namespaces (e.g. Statistics in
kernel_stats.hh).

clang has a bug (http://llvm.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=7247) which
causes confusion between the container std::set and the function
Packet::set, and this is currently addressed by not including the
entire namespace std, but rather selecting e.g. "using std::vector" in
the appropriate places.
