This patch fixes some issues in the directory controller regarding DMA handling: 1) Junk data messages were being sent immediately in response to DMA reads for a line in the S state (one or more sharers, clean). Now, data is fetched from memory directly and forwarded to the device. Some existing transitions for handling GETS requests are reused, since it's essentially the same behavior (except we don't update the list of sharers for DMAs) 2) DMA writes for lines in the I or S states would always overwrite the whole line. We now check if it's only a partial line write, in which case we fetch the line from memory, update it, and writeback. 3) Fixed incorrect DMA msg size Some existing functions were renamed for clarity. To build gem5, you will need the following software: g++ or clang, Python (gem5 links in the Python interpreter), SCons, SWIG, zlib, m4, and lastly protobuf if you want trace capture and playback support. Please see http://www.gem5.org/documentation/general_docs/building for more details concerning the minimum versions of the aforementioned tools. Once you have all dependencies resolved, type 'scons build/<ARCH>/gem5.opt' where ARCH is one of ARM, NULL, MIPS, POWER, SPARC, or X86.
