4b9c46caa5 python: Remove Python 2.7 compatibility code
We don't support Python 2.7 anymore. Remove glue code like the six
dependency and "from __future__" imports from gem5's standard library.

2a0140593f base, python: Allow dirname selection for the interpreter
This is the second step towards being able to run dynamically linked
applications when the guest ISA != than host ISA.

Once the guest interpreter is loaded to memory, we are able to redirect
shared object loads through the redirectPath interface.
How do we load the guest interpreter?
The elf file is for example asking for the /lib/ld-linux-aarch64.so
interpreter.
That would point to a valid dynamic linker/loader if guest ISA == host
ISA, but if we are running on X86 we should point to the guest
(aarch64 in the example) toolchain wherever it is installed.

This patch is adding the --interp-dir option to point to the parent
folder of the guest /lib in the host fs.

2974dc7a37 python: Move native wrappers to the _m5 namespace
Swig wrappers for native objects currently share the _m5.internal name
space with Python code. This is undesirable if we ever want to switch
from Swig to some other framework for native binding (e.g., PyBind11
or Boost::Python). This changeset moves all of such wrappers to the
_m5 namespace, which is now reserved for native code.

6f787e3d36 stats: create an enable phase, and a prepare phase.
Enable more or less takes the place of check, but also allows stats to
do some other configuration. Prepare moves all of the code that readies
a stat for dumping into a separate function in preparation for supporting
serialization of certain pieces of statistics data.
While we're at it, clean up the visitor code and some of the python code.
